the chairman and director of MIYAGI Dance

He was born in Nishinomiya, Hyogo in 1961. He graduated from Miyagi University of Education.(elementary school teacher training course) At university, he learned under the guidance of Dr. Toshiharu Takeuchi, about drama, relationships, expressing himself and senses of body, and so on. He arranged a workshop inviting Mr. Wolfgang Stange, who is AMICI dance company's founder, director, and principle choreographer, in London. The workshop stirred his heart and made such a great impact that he felt it had broken all the conventional ideas about dance. After that, he invited Mr. Wolfgang Stange to his workshops in Sendai several times. In 1996 he directed a dance performance "kaz"at the Art Festival for the Disabled held by Miyagi prefecture. In 1998, he started to tutor dancing at "MIYAGI Shintai-hyogen-no-kai." He has been a chairman of MIYAGI Dance since we were approved as a Non-Profit corporation. Besides directing and performing inclusive dance, he enjoys West-African dance and drums, or masked dances. He works at public elementary school in Miyagi.
