Purpose

With the major trend of today's Japan being "quality-of-life improvement" and "complete involvement in social activities (normalization)" of disabled persons, the participation of disabled persons in art activities has been actively promoted. In particular, activities in the fine arts have been prominent with expansion into other fields such as music and photography. However, emphasis on the performing arts has lagged behind. Therefore, we want to focus on the following 3 items as the goals for this project:

Establish performing art (dance) in which disabled persons participate

Dance performed by disabled persons is an "Art of Instinct." They sense the mood and respond to it with intuitive physical expression. It has a beauty and uplifting feeling that is hard to imitate. We believe that their performance is a superior art, enough to satisfy the audience. However, in Japan, the performance of disabled persons is as yet hardly considered an art. There are several factors related to this situation: people have never seen such a performance so they are unsure whether it works as art; there are few people who even know how to create it; and since performing art is transient the chances of it gaining public exposure are limited compared to fine art. Meanwhile, in the United States and Europe, performing art by disabled persons has already been widely accepted. We think that we can help establish the field of performing art by disabled persons in Japan through continuously performing works we create so that the general public has more opportunities to see what it is like. The performance we have produced this time is our 3rd work.

Performing art with harmony and diversity

We take disabilities as a diversity of people. Under the mission to encourage disabled and none-disabled to respect each other and live with cooperation in the community, we practice dance, performing arts, activities of physical expression which disabled and none-disabled equally work together. Therefore, we contribute to enhance the profit for the whole community.
